Ian Brzezinski, a senior fellow at the Atlantic Council and former U.S. deputy assistant secretary of defense for Europe and NATO policy, says further reductions in U.S. troops in Europe would be a strategic mistake, emboldening adversaries and raising questions about Washington’s commitment to NATO.

In this interview with Independence Avenue Media, Brzezinski explains what the U.S. military presence in Europe looks like today, what the Trump administration may change, and whether Washington is coordinating those changes with European allies.

Brzezinski also assesses Baltic and Polish warnings about a possible Russian military or hybrid provocation, attacks on critical infrastructure , Ukraine’s strikes inside Russia, NATO’s eastern flank, and the future of transatlantic relations.
