A group of Ukrainian veterans in Lviv is turning memories into recorded stories. “Voices of Defenders” pairs veterans’ written accounts of the war with the voices of fellow service members who read them aloud. It’s a process the project’s creators say helps veterans process trauma without reopening their own wounds. More than 40 veterans have taken part so far.
