🇺🇸🇺🇦 He served in Afghanistan. Then he volunteered to fight for Ukraine. But this was a completely different kind of war.
Towle, a 35-year-old former U.S. infantryman from Minnesota, has spent the past year fighting alongside Ukrainian drone operators on the Zaporizhzhia front.
💥 On his first deployment, he faced Russian tank fire, artillery, and guided bombs. Within hours of arriving at his position, his team was already striking Russian targets.
🚁 He learned to prepare combat drones in just two days. Months later, a Russian drone struck his vehicle, leaving him seriously wounded.
🏥 After multiple surgeries, Towle is recovering in Ukraine. He has no regrets about joining the fight.
