Matthew Kaminski is a journalist and media executive. He’s a cofounder and former editor in chief of POLITICO, which he helped build into a transatlantic powerhouse from 2014, when he launched and led POLITICO Europe and from 2018 onward, leading the U.S. editorial operations through its sale in late 2021.

Matt is currently the editorial chair of the Middle East Broadcasting Networks, editor at large and member of the advisory board at the Counteroffensive, and a senior advisor at Domyn, Unruly and Evident Insights. He also serves on the boards of the Center for European Policy Analysis and WORLD.MINDS. He started his journalistic career at the Financial Times in Kyiv and spent two decades at the Wall Street Journal in a variety of roles in Brussels, Paris and New York.

Matt was a Pulitzer Prize finalist won the Overseas Press Club award for his coverage of Ukraine in 2014. He holds degrees from Yale College and ULB-CERIS in Brussels, and lives in Washington.
