ZORISLAV BAYDYUK

Ukrainian Service Managing Editor

Zorislav Baydyuk is a multimedia journalist and international broadcaster with more than 25 years of experience in television, radio and digital media.

While attending Kyiv State University’s Institute of Journalism, Zorislav began his career as a field reporter covering political, military and human-interest stories across Ukraine. He later worked at International Media Center Internews’ “Vikna,” one of the first Western-style media organizations in independent Ukraine, and helped shape the country’s early modern news culture.

In 2000, he joined Voice of America’s Ukrainian Service in Washington as a radio journalist and producer, later expanding into television as a video journalist, correspondent and anchor. He hosted VOA’s most popular Ukrainian-language weekly program, “Window on America,” as well as “Chas-Time” and “Studio Washington” while producing daily news coverage and long-form features.

Over the years, Zorislav became a team leader, supervising editor, producer and line editor, directing editorial output, mentoring journalists, and overseeing both broadcast and digital production. He coordinated the work of more than 40 journalists, videographers, editors and producers across the U.S. and Ukraine.

Following Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022, he established a network of field crews and ensured high-quality, balanced and timely original reporting from inside Ukraine during the war.
