KARTLOS SHARASHENIDZE

Co-Founder, Executive Editor, Georgian Service Managing Editor

A Georgian journalist based in Washington, Executive Editor Kartlos Sharashenidze brings to IAM more than 15 years of experience reporting on U.S. foreign policy, transatlantic security and geopolitics in Eurasia.

Kartlos conducts exclusive interviews with senior U.S. policymakers and thought leaders and provides in-depth coverage of disinformation, democratic backsliding, security challenges, and Russian and Chinese influence in the region. 
 

He began his career in 2009 as a reporter for Georgian television, later serving as executive producer of national morning news programs at Georgian Public Broadcaster and Imedi TV. 
  
In 2018, he joined Voice of America’s Georgian Service as a New York-based stringer, producing short-format documentaries and reporting on U.S.-Georgia relations and U.S. politics and society.  

From 2019 to 2024, he worked as an international multimedia journalist for VOA in Washington, where he anchored the flagship Georgian-language television program “View From Washington” and served as duty editor, leading editorial coverage of U.S. politics, Congress, NATO, Eurasia and global democratic trends.
